Research Scientist (Finance)



The Wang Lab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Part-Time Bioinformatics Technician to contribute to exciting projects involving the analysis of cutting-edge genomic data. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your bioinformatics skills to RNA-Seq and CRISPR whole-genome knockout screen datasets, with the goal of generating impactful findings for publication. We offer the flexibility of remote work for this position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Research experience in biomedical research laboratories. Proven experience in analyzing large-scale RNA-Seq datasets. Experience analyzing CRISPR whole-genome knockout screen data. Proficiency in using relevant bioinformatics software and tools (e.g., STAR, DESeq2, GSEA, MAGeCK.) Demonstrated foundational knowledge in bioinformatics and computational biology. Basic understanding of molecular biology concepts, particularly related to RNA sequencing and CRISPR technology.   • Conduct comprehensive bioinformatic analyses of RNA-Seq datasets, including quality control, alignment, differential gene expression analysis, and functional enrichment analysis
  • \n
  • Perform in-depth analysis of CRISPR whole-genome knockout screen results, including hit identification, pathway analysis, and visualization of key findings.
  • \n
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality figures, tables, and written summaries of results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Maintain clear and organized records of analyses and methodologies
  • \n
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the research team.
  • \n
  • Stay current with relevant bioinformatics tools, databases, and analytical techniques.
