Primary Focus

As a Vendor/Category Business Manager, you will serve as the strategic liaison between Samsung and Ingram Micro, overseeing the end-to-end management of the vendor relationship. Samsung Consumer includes TV, Home Audio, Memory and Displays. Samsung Mobile B2B includes the PC, Tablet, Phones and Knox Device Management. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including vendor-dedicated personnel, sales, partner planning (purchasing), and marketing, to achieve defined business objectives.

This role demands exceptional negotiation capabilities, strong commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of the platform industry. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving vendor performance, optimizing category growth, and ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall P&L Responsibility requiring strong financial acumen.
  • Influence Ingram Micro's strategy for the category through deep understanding of the technology and/or vendor(s).
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships, serving as the main point of contact for all vendor-related communications and activities.
  • Work with vendor(s) to identify growth opportunities, new product offerings, and potential strategic partnerships to expand the platform category's portfolio and market presence.
  • Lead negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements to support mutual success and enhance profitability.
  • Report and inspect vendor performance to ensure both Ingram and vendor are achieving objectives.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely and accurate product delivery and inventory management.
  • Work closely with Marketing to deliver marketing initiatives, promotions, and campaigns to drive business results.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possesses the strongest of business acumen and skills acquired through advanced training, study and experience.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, category management, or a related role, preferably within the technology or platform industry.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster strong vendor relationships.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding business objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute category business plans.
  • Customer-centric focus with a passion for delivering exceptional service and building strong customer relationships.
  • Proactive and dynamic with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Travel may be required for vendor visits, industry events, and strategic meetings.
  • Apply knowledge of business insights and marketplace to stay informed about market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities within the solutions category.

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Business, Marketing or related field, MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in a related field).
  • Minimum eight years of functional experience, including at least five years of position-specific experience.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $110,600.00 - $188,100.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
