Customer Service Representative- KC Ready Mix (Finance)

Pay: $25 an hour, based on experience.

Position Overview (Closing CSR Shift)

The Customer Service Representative position is responsible for functions including but not limited to having a good understanding of the ready-mix business. The Customer Service Representative needs to be familiar with the delivery area and must be able to assist lost drivers in finding jobsites, determine travel times to jobs and determine the best plant location to service jobs. Need to be familiar with different truck capacities and what products are available at the various plants and sites.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Answer the phone promptly with a pleasant and accommodating tone of voice.

• Field high volume of phone calls per day.

• Deliver top notch customer service company foremen, all plants/worksites, as well as outside customers.

• Take the customer orders in a detailed, timely and professional manner and record accurate delivery and product information on the order.

• Schedules orders for drivers in a timely and efficient manner to provide customer service and promote customer satisfaction.

• Build a rapport with customers and establish good working business relationships

• Responds to customer inquiries and complaints concerning the status of orders and related issues as appropriate. Relays information to the appropriate department manager.

• Observes the flow of business on dispatch monitors and notifies customers when requested delivery times cannot be met. Reschedule deliveries or specify the time of delay as appropriate.

• Contact customers regarding details for specific orders and stimulate new orders, particularly from regular customers who have not placed orders recently.

• Collaborates with sales, quality control and operations personnel regarding general business conditions and specific customer orders.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is mandatory.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience

• Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. AA degree or college level experience preferred.

• A valid state driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.

• Two to four years of experience working in a dispatching environment.

Work Requirements

• Must be 18 years old or older.

• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.

• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

• Must be willing to work 50-55 (+/-) hours a week and weekends when necessary (per rotation).

• Must have the ability to work without close supervision.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with management and employees of all levels.

• Attention to details, communication, coordination, organization and decision-making skills needed.

• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment, and to react resourcefully under varying conditions.

• Ability to handle stress.

• Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.

• Ability to accurately and effectively use the computer monitoring system.

• General knowledge of concrete and related industry practices.

• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

• Able to sit for long periods of time.

• Fast-paced unpredictable environment.

• The noise level varies from quiet to moderate.

• Summer/Winter schedule variation.
