Research Recruitment Specialist - VRI (Finance)

Help advance the science that saves lives. Vitalant is currently seeking a Research Recruitment Specialist to support the Vitalant Research Institute-our hub for innovative, lifesaving research. In this role, you'll be responsible for recruiting volunteer research subjects and fulfilling daily research collection needs. You'll also help grow and maintain a reliable base of research participants to support current and future studies that drive scientific progress in transfusion medicine and beyond.

This position will work on-site out of our Denver, CO location 5 days/ week.

As a Research Recruitment Specialist, you'll get to:
  • Recruit, pre-screen, and schedule research subjects to fulfill incoming study orders and future research needs.
  • Retain and re-engage current subjects, converting them between research and allogeneic collections as appropriate.
  • Educate subjects on research opportunities and donation processes, including apheresis and sample collection.
  • Support donor flow and wait time management by coordinating with staff and subjects.
  • Participate in research studies by obtaining consent, enrolling subjects, administering questionnaires, and completing required documentation.
  • Collect and enter data, prepare reports, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Attend events to conduct in-person recruitment as needed.
  • Assist with subject payment and resolve customer service concerns.
  • Maintain complete, accurate subject files and research records, including quality control and daily screening.
  • Stay current with required certifications and training (e.g., Human Research Subjects, GCP, GTP, NMDP, CPR).
  • Communicate timely and effectively with team members, management, and medical staff regarding issues or updates.
  • Collaborate with the team to fulfill daily and weekly client orders and study expectations.

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education

  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
  • One year of experience in related field required.
  • Two years of experience in a medical or research setting preferred.
Skills/Abilities
  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to analyze customer related situations and take appropriate action.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Good working knowledge of PC software.
