Technical Writer - Manufacturing (Engineering)



Were looking for a technically minded and dependable Technical Writer to join our growing team. This is more than a desk job youll collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to create accurate service manuals, assembly instructions, and parts catalogs that keep our equipment running strong.

Position summary
The Technical Writer will be at the center of creating high-quality manuals, service guides, and parts catalogs that support the performance, serviceability, and safety of Rotochopper equipment. Youll work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate documentation and even flex your drafting skills by updating technical drawings and bill of materials (BOMs).

ResponsibilitieS
Create and maintain a variety of technical documents, including operator manuals, service guides, parts catalogs, and installation instructionsEnsure consistent formatting, terminology, and visuals across all documentationWork alongside engineering, service and production teams to collect and validate technical contentSupport Engineering Change Orders by updating documentation and drawingsUse CAD software (2D/3D) to update existing drawings and create illustrations or exploded viewsMaintain document accuracy and version control using our ERP system (NetSuite)Contribute to continuous improvement in how we deliver technical information

qualifications
Associate degree, technical diploma, or certification in Technical Writing, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.2+ years of experience writing technical documentation in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment.Proficiency in authoring tools like Adobe FrameMaker.Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Auto CAD, or similar) with the ability to make basic edits and generate simple models or illustrations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.Basic understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and configuration management.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, electrical, and hydraulic components is highly desirable.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and document control tools is an asset.
