Security Operations Intern - Fall 2025 (Agriculture)



OVERVIEW:

The Security Operations Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Children's Museum of Indianapolis by assisting the Director of Security Operations with various security and compliance initiatives. This internship provides an invaluable opportunity for students interested in law enforcement, security, and public safety to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic and renowned cultural institution. The intern will engage in a variety of tasks, from developing and implementing emergency response plans to participating in security drills and trainings. Additionally, the intern will help support the Safety Warden Program, support school group arrivals, and assist in the seamless operation of museum events. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of security operations and emergency management in a public-facing environment, emphasizing the importance of safety, preparedness, and community engagement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Review the museum's emergency response plans, policies and procedures
  2. Review and practice emergency drills and trainings.
  3. Attend museum meetings/trainings related to security.
  4. Assisting with the Safety Warden Program
  5. School Groups and arrivals procedures
  6. Event operation and assisting with events.

Qualifications:

  • Sophomore, junior, or senior at the college level majoring in Security, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security/Public Safety (preferred)
  • Self-motivated and have a demonstrated ability to work independently. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
