Warehouse Supervisor (Finance)



Overview

Stewart & Stevenson is Now Hiring a Warehouse Superivosr at 8631 East Freeway Houston, TX 77029.

Supervise the movement of parts/products and organization of assigned in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Supervise the movement of materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
  • Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  • Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Oversee the assembly of customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program and verify the entry.
  • Coordinate staff in counting of physical inventory.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Completing requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  • Preparing parcels for mailing.
  • Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all time.
  • Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervises warehouse associates in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager with interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, and discipline.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of experience in warehouse and inventory operations is required.
  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience as a lead/supervisor is preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
  • Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels).
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Requires crawling and working in narrow spaces.
  • Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e. hammering, turning wrenches, screwdrivers and impact tools.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
  • Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Exposed to cold, heat, noise mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
  • Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift.
  • Will be required to work at a minimum height of four feet off of the ground.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile equipment and motor vehicles as required.
